Hyperthermia Combined with Radiotherapy
Result: The study found that the combination of radiotherapy and hyperthermia immunotherapy was effective in reducing the size of the tumour and relieving portal thrombosis. The image above is a CT scan of the liver of a patient with liver cancer with PVTT. The red arrow is pointing to the tumour. The study found that the tumour was smaller in the CT scan taken after the patient had received radiotherapy and hyperthermia immunotherapy, and the portal vein thrombosis was relieved after the patient had received the treatment.
Hyperthermia Combined with Chemotherapy
Result: CT scan of the abdomen of a patient with gastric cancer with liver metastasis who had a tumor resection of the stomach (T-colon segmental resection). The patient in the image is receiving treatment with FAM chemotherapy and hyperthermia. The study found that the metastatic LAP decreased in size. This shows that the combination of FAM chemotherapy and hyperthermia is a promising treatment option for patients with gastric cancer with liver metastasis.
